Reach for the Stars is a premium dance competition in South Africa designed to celebrate the rich tapestry of diverse dance talents. By identifying and nurturing hidden potential, this initiative has the power to dramatically alter the life trajectories of countless young people. Cultivating exceptional artists and facilitating personal growth, healing, and inspiration within participants and audiences alike.
Founded by Desiree Angus the competition aims to promote cultural expression, discover new and raw talents and provide an inclusive platform for dancers and dance studio’s to compete, enhance their skills and gain exposure. Reach for the Stars aims to showcase and grow South African dance talent through all-styles/genres dance competition.

in the performing arts for over five decades,
Reach for the Stars champions holistic artistic growth.
As a dancer, choreographer, and stagecraft expert,
Desiree’s true passion lies in inspiring others.
Watching her students thrive on local and
international stages is the heart of her mission.
This event embodies her vision, propelling
dancers beyond their limits and into new realms of
artistic expression.
